Beginnings blessed by rain?

Tomorrow may be better for a proper blog-start -- as tonight, lightning flashes and moon-obliterating monsoon clouds are funneling across Arizona's White Mountains. No rain yet.
My Mac is encouraging me to shutdown and unplug everything of electronic value. Laughing in the face of Thor rarely works out. Even super-charged static/pre-storm air can zap an unplugged, closed laptop.
If we are lucky, the male rains ( booming thunder, fierce lighting and 3-minute cloudbursts) will be followed by female rains... misty drizzle lasting 24 hours if not days. The beans and pumpkins are in need.

Counterpoint: Remembering sweet dozy years in Wiltshire and West Wales in contrast to NE Arizona's usual red dust and sagebrush drought ... and how I would pray for a single week of sunshine and dry lanes to relieve the endless mildew, fungi growing in airing cupboards and never-quite-dry wool socks. The Welsh were right -- it wasn't the mountains that stopped the Romans and Normans from ferreting them out of the hills.... it was the rain!
